I am thrilled to share that I have been selected to participate in the 2023-2024 Precious Pearls Debutante Program, organized by the Boston Pearl Foundation, Incorporated, and the Psi Omega Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This program aims to develop civic and cultural awareness, etiquette and social graces, financial literacy, health and fitness, higher education planning, and community service over six months. After completing the program, I will be honored for my achievements and presented to the Boston Society at a formal ball on June 1, 2024

About Me

Extracurricular Activities
The extracurricular activities that I choose to participate in are based on my values and morals. I have been competing in DECA for two years and counting. Both projects have been based on improving the lives of people in my community. In my recent project, my team and I donated more than 750 pounds of food to the Newton Food Pantry for low-income families. I have been a competitive participant in the Tenacity Challenge, an annual academic competition for students of color. I’m also part of a program at my school called the Dover Legacy Scholars, which focuses on enhancing and expanding the academic experience of Black and LatinX students who have been underrepresented in higher education. My peers and I are planning a clothing drive for a women’s shelter that will be hosted by the Dover Legacy Scholars. I work two part-time jobs during the school year. I have been working at my Sunday School for 3+ years, teaching children in 3rd grade the basics of Hebrew while also helping prepare and implement the lesson plan. This year, I started working at an after-school program for elementary schoolers. When I was younger, I was a student in both of these programs, and now I get to have an impact on younger children who are just like me.

Community Service:
I am participating in the Care Crafts Project, an organization that is made to uplift hospital patients. We make cards, bracelets, and coloring sheets.
​
Anticipated College /Course of Study:
I am passionate about many things. Currently, I am considering several majors, including business, entrepreneurship, early childhood development, animal/veterinary science, and political science.
​
Career Aspirations
Again, I am not completely sure what the future holds. I know that whatever I end up pursuing, I will create a positive impact.

Favorite Quote/Scripture/ Author:
One of my favorite authors is Toni Morrison. I love how she connects race and gender in American society. Her writing shares messages that are tremendously important for everyone to hear.
​
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to read. Currently, I am reading the Hunger Games series, which will never get old. I also love to hangout with my friends. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go to Martha's Vineyard with friends and family, spend time on the beaches, and watch the sunset at Menemsha.
